Equality Through Education is a certified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by high school student Oorja Munot at the age of 14. She hoped to erase the injustices faced by her dad and grandmother back in India. After establishing an Executive Board, ETE went on to expand throughout the state of Maryland specifically in MCPS with Oorja testifying before the Board of Education, hosting our first book drive at Richard Montgomery HS, and gaining presence on social media. ETE’s founder and executive board now dedicate their lives to helping underprivileged students across the world.
Equality Through Education prioritizes working towards educational reform internationally by providing equitable resources to underprivileged students. Through our worldwide events, social media, and outreach, ETE is advocating for underprivileged students everywhere. From our executive board to our general members, we are dedicated to the mission of helping as many students as we can.
Since ETE was established, we have pushed to continuously expand, including internationally. ETE Chapters are branches off of our main non-profit organization that strives to help underprivileged students in their area. No matter the size of the Chapter, every Chapter is significant and crucial to ETE’s mission. Some of our first chapters includes ETE Virginia, ETE Pakistan, ETE Canada, and local school chapters including ETE Club at Richard Montgomery HS (RMHS).
Our President/Founder Oorja Munot testified before the Board of Education of Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) located in Maryland, USA on April 20th, 2023.
We strive to make an impact not only in the USA but also worldwide. As a result, our members have worked hard to launch initiatives and ETE Chapters in various countries around the world.
