ETE Chapter Handguide

THE BASICS

Please reach us at equalitythrougheducation.ete@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

An Equality Through Education (ETE) Chapter is a branch off of our main non-profit organization that consists of a group of people striving to help underprivileged students in their area. No matter the size of the Chapter, every Chapter is significant and crucial to ETE’s mission. An ETE Chapter can be a school club, a community group, or even just among friends. Chapters are expected to make a commitment to maintaining a close relationship with the kids within your area. Chapters are also expected to maintain good relationships with their partners to bring a larger-scale impact to ETE’s mission.

Equality Through Education operates through partnerships with local organizations and volunteers to implement sustainable development projects.

In your ETE Chapter, your organizational structure may vary but we commend that you appoint the following positions:

  1. Chapter Lead: Manages all positions and oversees all activities; communicates with and updates the ETE Executive board monthly.
  2. Secretary: Collaborates with the President; organizes logistics for events; in charge of communication between the partner schools as well as with general officers., team members, and Oorja Munot.
  3. Treasurer: Manages the club's budgeting and the general funds/fills out a bi-annual budget report; organizes fundraisers.

The Steps

Getting Started

1) Chapter Registration

To begin the chapter registration process, you must fill out the Chapter Registration Form. It is only after completing this form that you will be officially registered. Following your submission, the ETE Team will notify you and arrange an interview with the President, Oorja Munot, and the Secretary at a time that suits your availability.

*If you are part of a school-based club, it’s essential to engage with admin, your club sponsor(s), and potentially the school principal prior to organizing fundraisers and certain events. Don’t overlook these vital steps for successful community involvement.

2) Meet with Oorja Munot and Executive Board Members

3) Once you are fully registered, you must:

Create an Instagram Account for your ETE Chapter:

- Ensure to tag our main Instagram account (@equalitythrued) in your bio.

- Format the handle as @equalitythrued or @ete followed by your school name, community, or country name.

- After creating your Instagram account, email the ETE Team with your handle to start posting about events and updates related to your chapter.

Create an ETE Chapter Email:

- Set up a dedicated email for your ETE Chapter to handle all non-profit and ETE related inquiries and communications.

- Format your email as equalitythrued or ete followed by your school name, region, or country name, and @gmail.com (Example: equalitythrued.USA@gmail.com).

- CC all emails to (equalitythrougheducation.ete@gmail.com AND oorjamunot07@gmail.com).

Start reaching out to local schools and businesses:

- As your chapter operates smoothly, begin reaching out to local schools to explore partnerships that can help underprivileged students gain access to educational resources. Additionally, collaborate with local businesses to raise awareness of your ETE Chapter and garner community support through fundraisers.

*If you have specific non-profits, libraries, or schools in your area that you wish to partner with, please inform us by emailing their details, including contact information and addresses.
